The music of Tabla for Two facilitated our being invited to the White House to celebrate Nowruz. It was a beautiful, lavish, generous party. And it just happened to be Masood’s birthday! What a celebration – what an honor! Nowruz meaning “new day”, is the Persian New Year.
Tabla for Two celebrated International Womens Day yesterday by supporting The Afghan Womans Writing Project at the Corcoran, Washington, DC.
Tabla for Two took part in the Embassy of Afghanistan’s Embassy Adoption Program at John Eaton Elementary School in Washington, D.C. This session focused on Afghan traditional music and dance. The fifth grade students were treated to a special performance of Afghan traditional music by Tabla for Two, as well as a presentation and video demonstration of different styles of traditional Afghan dance.
